How to charge my phone wirelessly?

I just got the new model 3 that comes with usb-C and wireless charging. Do I just put my phone on the phone pad to start charging? I put my phone on the phone pad but my phone doesn't charge. My phone supports wireless charging. Do I need to connect something to start using it?

is it in a case? If so, take it out of the case and try again, and make sure you are setting it down on one side or the other.

I have the same problem, my phone didn't charge with a case.
Then I connected the charger to the 12 V auxiliary plug using an adapter
and now I have fast charging, like about 2 Amp measuring using the Ampere App/

My new M3 with the wireless charging built in won’t charge my smaller iPhone 8... I put it on the pad, screen lights up and shows the charging icon.. then within 30-60 seconds screen lights up again to show it stopped... My wife’s larger iPhone 8 Plus charges perfectly. If I leave the smaller 8 on the pad, seems to bounce back and forth between charging, then not charging... Tested the 8 on multiple wireless chargers in house, all work fine. It ‘feels’ like the coil in the M3 pad might be too high to keep the charge connected.
Anyone else having this issue?
