Loud hissing sound preconditioning

My Model Y was parked outdoors overnight in low temperatures. Just before entering it, I initiated the preconditioning process, setting the temperature to 70 degrees while the car was connected to level 2 charging. To my surprise, the vehicle emitted a loud buzzing sound. Is this occurrence normal?
