LR AWD Waiting Room

Certain configurations seem to be taking longer. Since Tesla emptied their whole inventory they need to produce the cars. So things like Red paint or white seats haven’t been produced in awhile.

They’ll get to it eventually. If you research past cars on ev-cpo, you’ll see that they work in batches. The most recent LR AWD was white on black.

How are you able to tell which are the most recently produced ones?

As we can see here, these are the archived listings - so the most recent batch of cars sold from inventory were white on black.

Here are the current inventory cars, looks like white seats are back on the production line

Ordered 6/20 (Currently at 4 weeks and 1 day)
LR AWD Red with White interior.
No VIN

I finally called Tesla this morning and actually got good info on my reservation number. I was told it will be done with production between 7/20-7/26. Week for shipping and following week for delivery. Looks like they’re projecting taking delivery first or second week of August.

I asked about my config and he said it’s a more unique selection that was at the last cycle of batch production and that’s why it’s taken longer. He also tried to find me one sooner but ended up saying just wait for mine off the factory line. He was fun to talk to and I got good info. I’m just happy to finally have a projected date. That’s easier than being completely in the dark.

Awesome! Thank you for this update!

Saw someone else explain that misery loves company, how very true. Waiting is HARD! But after reading so many other posts I think maybe I can't complain about waiting, at least not yet.

Ordered 7/13
LR AWD Pearl with white interior
Non-performance (18" Aero)
Full self-driving
No VIN yet

I had really hoped to have it by my birthday (8/5) - fingers crossed!

I'm with you. Ordered mine the same day and find myself checking the app for a vin 10 times a day, rebooting the app in between in disbelieve, that it must be because the app is hanging. :)
Patience is not one of my strength.

I ordered this exact configuration on 7/5. I just spoke with a Tesla rep. They said the hold up is likely the white interior as they are produced less often. It has been 2 weeks today, he said that he would get another week and a half to two weeks until vin assigned.

Only 10 times a day?! Ha Ha! I now find myself viewing the page source to see if maybe the VIN is there and just not showing yet. Clearly I'm excited about getting this car!
Best of luck and hope your patience holds out - and mine.

2 and half weeks... certainly better than months, but still - guess I need to find a hobby to occupy the time :) Thanks!

Ordered 7/13 (last Sunday)

LR AWD
Midnight Silver Metallic
Aero Wheels
Black Interior
No FSD

I received a text on Wednesday to schedule a delivery appointment - mine is scheduled for next Friday the 26th. But I have no VIN, I've had no contact with anyone from Tesla (other people say they're getting calls), and I can't make my final payment online yet. Should I still count on getting my car on the 26th? I'm guessing no VIN means it hasn't even been built yet, then it still has to go halfway across the country.

Debating - I see a similar model 3 (it has FSD, our order we did not purchase this) at the Seattle store. We are going to Seattle tomorrow for a week. Do I switch things and purchase this model and drive it home after our visit or do I wait? Patiently.

The drive is long (Seattle to Phoneix), but would be fun with autopilot

Yes, that's the ticket! But, understand sales tax and registration costs of doing so.

Only if you want to pay a stupid amount of sales tax: 10.1% + whatever it is for cars

White interior is starting to be in production again - check EV-CPO, All of the archived cars were Pearl White + Black. Latest batch (sort by VIN descending) has White interior.

Finally pulled the trigger and ordered my model 3... LR AWD, MSM, Black interior, 19" wheels with FSD on 7/17. Got my VIN today (7/20), and will be taking delivery 8/5 (had to delay it a few days due to being out of town). The only strange thing is the VIN is 4184xx -- which I thought correlated with a build date at the end of May or beginning of June. Delivery specialist said the car had a "birthdate" of 7/19 and was coming straight from Fremont. Has anyone else had experience with these seemingly non-sequential VINs?
