Maybe we need a new movie: "Who Killed the Flywheel Car?"

Several years ago flywheel-powered cars seemed very promising for a while. Flywheel technology improved a lot with the introduction of high-strength composite materials, and some were saying they just needed to reduce the idling losses.

But instead, it seems like li-ion batteries advanced faster and left flywheels behind. The interest in them has all faded.
