Model 3 drive shaft boot split....

2020 Model 3 Performance with 40k miles on it. Out of warranty, and has done 8k miles this year.

It's just failed its MOT because on the front passenger side, the drive shaft constant velocity boot has split.

Does anyone know how much this will be to fix before I reach out to Tesla?

Thanks

There use to be a company that use to manufacture split boots/gaitors. I don’t know if they still exist. (Just checked and seems to be various suppliers these days - many seem to be universal, mine was specific to my car)

I used them before and was relatively easy to fit with a little care. It lasted the life of the vehicle, which was many years.

No need to dismantle suspension and drive shafts. Once the old one was removed, the new one is wrapped around the CV joint and carefully glued, and iirc cable tied to form a complete boot/gaitor - having first cleaned and lubricated the relevant parts.
