Greetings all. I drive a 2019 Fremont made model 3 standard range.
The rear trunk latch had started opening only halfway. When the trunk automatically closed, it bangs into the latch and actuates the latch closed without grasping the eyelet/ hook. This leaves the trunk able to be manually opened and the display reading that the trunk is closed.
I'm able to get around this by manually closing the trunk while pulling it to the left so that the hook doesn't impact the half-closed latch. It then actuates and locks the trunk.
My question is what part do you think is damaged / needing replacement? The actuator seems to work, but the latch opening mechanism seems to have partially failed.
