Model 3 trunk retrofit for new Highland Model 3

Just a random thought. Anyone planning on purchasing the trunk lid of a Highland M3 and fitting it on an older M3. I see that you would have to remove the primary taillights for the trunk to fit as the new one is part of the trunk lid.

It seems like it's the same shape as the older trunk lid.

I once had a dream about cutting my wife's butt off and replacing it with Oprah's butt... but then I woke up and realized that would be a mistake. Sounds like the same idea here.

With respect. Something tells me that they are not even the same shape. This may seem strange, but I think when you look at them closer, you may see that it takes out part of the left (driver side) rear light. I’m convinced that it would not be worth the effort, but then again, it’s your wallet.

I was just wondering. I know a shop is probably going to offer it as they did when the facelift Model S came around.

You have also to consider the electrical changes. In paticular if the hatch stays open when driving,
then the stop light and turn light get transfered to the bumper location.
