Is this Elons way of admitting that real world numbers on our Ys are way off of the EPA guesstimates? I dont blame him for being embarrassed. The model Y SR range is probably worse than a Chevy Bolt

I'd guess in the harsh cold the range was sub 200 miles.

The Chevy Bolt EV is not comparable in size or capability to any configuration of the Tesla Model Y. The Tesla Model Y is a considerably larger vehicle than the Bolt EV. The new 2022 Chevy Bolt EV and Bolt EUV carry over the same 200 HP front drive unit with a total battery capacity of 66 kWh. The battery pack in the Standard Range Model Y is considerably smaller at 54 kWh so it is not surprising that the EPA range of the Standard Model Y (244 miles) is less than the 2022 Bolt EV (259 miles) and 2022 Bolt EUV (250 miles.)

The new 2022 Bolt EUV is closer in size to the Model Y. The Model Y has a total cargo capacity of 68 cu ft. This is 11 cu ft more cargo capacity than the larger Bolt EUV. The Model Y can be configured to seat up to 7 passengers and can be equipped to tow up to a 3500 lb trailer. Neither of these options can be configured on the Bolt EV or Bolt EUV.

there are plenty of people that have a need for a commuter car at a good price. 200 miles doesn't see like an issue to me.

Very wrong my friend. Been driving our SR around SD all day long and after 179 miles have still many left. Started with 80% battery

In the US Tesla discontinued their seven day return policy back in the fall of 2020. Once you accept the vehicle you have to keep it, work with the service center and negotiate the repair and/or replacement of any cosmetic damage or minor defects including panel gaps, scratches and paint defects. Of course Tesla will repair electrical or mechanical problems under the warranty.
