So apparently the newer Model X front license plate bracket uses 3M to mount itself rather than the older which uses screws. Seeing as the front clip hasn't changed on the model X (from what I can tell) I would assume it would work on older models. Problem is that I can't get one from Tesla (Sterling VA) because they can't "link" the new bracket with my older 2017 Model X. Anyone know how I could get one?
I tried one aftermarket mount (SnapPlate) and it still broke even though I had the breakaway plate mount joint. It broke the core mount and all I got was a sorry about that.
