Texas is getting rid of mandatory state vehicle inspections

Texas could become the next state to remove annual mandatory inspections. After passing both legislative chambers, the bill is going to Gov. Greg Abbott's desk.

Does this mean we won’t have to go anywhere and can just pay online to renew our sticker annually? Since we didn’t have the emissions part anyway.

So now I'll get to share the roads with vehicles that look like they featured in The Beverly Hillbillies? Maybe don't have proper brakes or steering?
Optional lighting? With windshield wipers worse than a Tesla?

Georgia hasn't had a safety inspection in many years, but they have had an emissions inspections (maybe only in some counties though).
EVs have been excepted from the emissions inspection, so yep, we just send in a check every year.
