Correct. Although they use terms like "autonomous drive", this is most similar to AP1 and early AP2 or Cadillac Supercruise. None of which use lidar.

Audi's system, which does use a crude, low resolution lidar, is still the only Level 3 system I've seen which end users can buy today. Except US end users, that is, due to patchwork regulations. Even so, the Audi system is limited to traffic jams on highways.

They are basically using Mobileye. I expect them to continue to use newer versions of EyeQ. So it depends on what Mobileye can achieve.

Mobileye also crowd sources but only HD maps, not training data. So its not clear how fast or how close to FSD they will get in the next few years.
