I'm about to order rims for my 2021 LR Y. It's still a bit all confusing but I think I'm going to get 20x9.5 35mm offset rims

per this post 245/45R/20 tires seem to be a great tire option as well 20 inch Uberturbine wheels on Model Y + optional thicker 45 profile sidewall.

I'm trying to optimize smooth ride, low chance of curb rash, quiet, and looks . The rims are 1 piece forged 24lbs 2,000lb rating (is this enough)?

I have the redwood motorsports grand touring fully adjustable suspension at stock height which i had lowered 1/2" but raised back up (much softer ride).

Thanks!

Here's a good summary regarding wheel load ratings. And looking at TSportline's collection of 20" wheels the 3 I looked at are all rated at 900kg/1980 lbs per wheel.

Tesla uses 255/40-20 tires on their 20x9.5 Induction wheels, and we all know how much the sidewalls on those 255 tires do NOT help at all with curb rash. You really don't get curb protection on the Induction wheels until you go with 275/40-20 tires, and on 45mm offset wheels that will fit. So with your 35mm offset wheels (which will stick out 10mm wider, and look better on the car too), you will have no problem fitting the same 275/40-20 tires. I'm actually running 265/35-21 tires on 21x9.5 wheels with a 35mm offset, and a slightly lower suspension drop on my MYP, and there's tons of clearance all around.

If you look at a tire calculator comparison with factory 255/40-20 tires vs the 245/45-20 tires you're looking to get, there's going to be a different reading on your speedometer.

thank you so much for your time. so if i'm ordering custom wheels and wanted 20" what size would you recommend ? 20x9.5+35mm offset or 20x9 35mm offset? and 275/40/20 tires ? or 265/35/20?

If I did 19" rims, 9" or 9.5 with same offset? which tires?

part of me wanted 19" since the goodyear GOODYEAR INTRODUCES ITS FIRST ELECTRIC VEHICLE REPLACEMENT TIRE IN NORTH AMERICA, THE ELECTRICDRIVE GT but they 1st are only going to have 255/45/19

if I go 20" who's got the quietest tire?
