P100D - Drive Unit Needs Service - Avoid Hard Acceleration

My friend has a 2 month old P100D, 2k miles, got this message. He drives aggressively but not crazy AFAIK. When I've ridden in it, I notice pretty severe vibration when he floors it. New motor has been ordered, and this is the second time his X will have been taken away on a flatbed for service.
We recently had both front axles replaced on our X because I kept noticing vibration under hard acceleration. I had to bring it up a few times tho, as the first time they just tightened some things but the issue came back. Now it's smooth as silk.

Tesla service ran diagnostics on my P100d after I had the same warning. Need to fully replace the rear drive unit at only 2k miles on my 2 month old X. Brought it in today, should get it back in 1-2 days.

You're unlikely to get a UK service centre to ring you back if they haven't within an hour or you complain on the uk owners Facebook group, so I'd call them again.

Motors fail, they're better than they were but plenty of Model S owners have needed replacements, so maybe that. Any limit on power should be shown on the dash with the line becoming dotted on the power chart where the limit kicks in.

I emailed them on 18th May. Heard nothing back so another email on 25th May. Got a quick reply on 30th May, almost two weeks after my first contact!

They called me on 1st June to say the drive unit will be replaced and they've got the part in stock now. They're waiting for some other parts and then the car will go in.

Glad it's not just me experiencing the problem, a few others with the same issue it seems.
