Range hit from Arachnids

Hey All,

I have a MS Performance and want to go with 21” wheels. I purchased with the stock 19” Slipstream and I currently have the 20” T-Sportline TST. I’m wondering how much of a rage hit I will get with the Arachnids vs these two wheels seeing that they are lighter than both. Will that make up for the increased rubber hitting the asphalt?

Right now I average about 350wh/mile as I do mostly freeway driving.

Looking ok the Tesla site you lose EPA 22 miles by choosing the Sonic Carbon Twin Turbine wheels. Since the Arachnids are lighter I’m wondering if it’s somewhere between the EPA 348 and 326

It's not just the greater contact patch, but also the rolling resistance of a stickier summer tire that will hurt range. I've read that it's 0-7% depending on the original wheel/tire config.

No clue going from 20s to 21s. But it seems most folks say 5-ish% loss. Maybe more, maybe less.

My averages are 335 for 21” turbines (staggered), 308 for 21” arachnids (staggered), and 300 for 19” TST (square).

I’m wondering how much of a rage hit I will get...

I hope you won’t be hit by rage when the larger wheels reduce your range.

Lol. I commute 150 miles/day so a 5% flex won’t hurt so bad. The “rage” I get usually comes from the 405 freeway in SoCal. Traffic is absolutely ridiculous.
