Rear Axel Squeak/Squeal

Hey everyone

I picked up my Model 3 yesterday and have been completely floored by it. However, as I was showing my wife the car with music off and windows down, I noticed a squeaking or squealing noise coming from the rear axel. I can't tell if the brakes are 'wearing in' or if there is a wheel bearing issue or something like that. The noise seems to persist both while braking and accelerating, but it also seems to come and go.

I emailed my Delivery Specialist and am waiting to hear back, but I'm curious if anyone else has run into this.

here is a very short video where you can hear it.

Any input is appreciated!

I'd look elsewhere for the noise inasmuch as the Tesla does not have an axle. Now it could be an independent suspension component, or a wheel bearing .... CR is raising a lot of questions about the brakes .... so maybe the fault is there.

Good luck. I'm confident it can be easily and quickly found and corrected.

Thanks. I guess that's the only way I knew to reference where the noise is coming from, but its definitely somewhere in the rear near the wheel well. I'm not able to get in for service until 6/18 due to a number of conflicts, so maybe if it's a simple 'break in' it will be gone by then.

I'm having the same exact issue only it's the front right wheel/brakes making the squeaking noise. What did the dealership end up saying about yours? I saw this on reddit.

My 3 just developed this same noise. Sounds like it's coming from the right rear. I took the wheels off, put it in tow mode, and there was nothing obviously loose or making a sounds when I rotated the hub. Next available appointment is next Wednesday, so I guess I will have an embarrassing sounding car until then.

Wanted to follow-up - I determined that the sound is not coming from the rear, or the brakes for that matter. I was able to isolate the sound to be coming from the front right, and after removing the wheel, the sound is coming from the right front inner CV joint.
