Rear making weird sound

I'd like to start by stating for one that I'm new to this forum so forgive me a little, and second no matter what, I was gonna take my car in to be looked at I just wanted to see if anyone had some information that could help mentally prepare myself for how much this is gonna cost me. So anyways I have a tesla model S 70D and as I was about half a mile from my work, what I thought was coming from my rear motor was a weird, much loader than normal humming sound, almost like it was dying. Got out and went to grab stuff from the truck and it smelt like smoke from something electric, only in the back though. Temperature was about 75 I believe, I've read that might make a difference. But any guesses as to what it may be would be very helpful.

Could be a stuck brake pad, they don't get as much use on an EV so corrosion will keep them from retracting.
