Red Model 3 2022 - Xpel Stealth (matte) vs Xpel Clear

Matte may look unique but not sure how good is it on a Red model 3.
Not many photos or posts with red matte model 3.

Given below options, what would you choose?
  1. Xpel Stealth (matte) full ppf with Ceramic Coating
  2. Xpel Ultimate (clear) full ppf with Ceramic Coating
  3. Xpel Ultimate (clear) on front hood with Ceramic Coating
  4. Just Ceramic Coating without PPF

It would be #2/3 for me, just depends on your budget. I am a fan of matte ppf, had it on my Y and on my LR S now. But with red its does not look good, its so muted. If you wanted a good matte red, wrap it in 3m Satin Vampire Red. I plan on doing full front PPF and ceramic on the rest of the car with my red 3 performance.

Great point.
For full vs front-only, is it worth going full? Does going full PPF give you a more glossy and premium look than doing front only ?
The price difference is significant between front-only vs full.

The ppf specialist recommend full as it protects the whole car from even door dings in parking lots. Also makes it easy to maintain. Is that true ?

If you plan to keep the car awhile full car is worth it. Full car is expensive and most do not see the value in it. The person who said it protects from door dings is absolutely wrong. It is easier to maintain esp if you ceramic coat it. PPF is great for rock chips and scratches, but PPF is not stopping a dent.

Curious what OP ended up doing with the 2022 Red M3. I pick up my 2023 Red M3 in 3 days and have been getting quotes for XPEL Ultimate and Stealth in all the mentioned combinations w/ and w/out ceramic from the installer. Hard to find good pictures of a Red M3 w/ Stealth, but I do like the matte finish on the other colors I've seen IRL. Seems like consensus elsewhere is to go w/ clear PPF on Red paint to really get the pearl to show through.
