Except OP is asking $25k for a car with a foulty HV battery that at worst will cost $20k or at best $5k. The car on the article appear to be clean title, and that person bought it for $15k. If there was logic he could expect to sell his salvage model S for around half of that or around $8k. It has to be worth it for someone to gamble on this car

Exactly - OP has two options - fix car and sell or reassess asking price
