Well within the competency of any company that cared to invest a modicum of time and resources in it. Moving people's EDD 4-6 months at a time is bush league nonsense.Love seeing all the "how is this so hard" posts. Here are just a few reasons off the top of my head:
- People holding multiple reservations when they only intend to take delivery of one car
- Deferred deliveries in hopes of new features/goodies
- Delivery cancellations & rejection at delivery time
- Reliance on other software systems, which themselves might be estimates with variable accuracy
- Shipping delays on parts, and other supply chain issues
- Workforce reductions because of covid outbreaks
- Shipping times for cars
- Delivery center capacity
- Confirmation bias from tmc forum posts
- The interface to display this info to customers is separate from the estimation algorithm
- Sometimes these systems (or parts of them) need maintenance, or go down (often not even their fault, e.g. AWS)
- All software has bugs
- They have better things to worry about than algorithm accuracy — like actually building cars
So easy, right?
SameMy EDD returned after going to TBD like everyone else. Returned at 4:44pm. Back to its original window.
Dang, this shift is boring. What should we do today? Oh I know, lets set everyone's EDD to TBD and watch the internet blow up.I cant help but laugh that there is some Tesla intern or Employee watching these threads and messing with us all day. Gotta stay positive some how lol
Haha literally. Imagine though.Dang, this shift is boring. What should we do today? Oh I know, lets set everyone's EDD to TBD and watch the internet blow up.
Back to Jan 29-Feb26th ROFL. Yup temporary TBD is gone!Los Angeles Now TBD... EDD was Jan29-Feb26. OD 09/13: MYLR5, Grey exterior, Black Interior, 19" wheels, no other options (Cash). I actually find this fun lol. But I have had a Tesla since 2013.
+1Back to Jan 29-Feb26th ROFL. Yup temporary TBD is gone!
I think a better question is, who’s EDD did NOT go to TBD
If you think about it, its nearly magical.... they are manipulating the future! They move us up. Then back. It’s like the Matrix. Cubed.Well within the competency of any company that cared to invest a modicum of time and resources in it. Moving people's EDD 4-6 months at a time is bush league nonsense.
Money and resources would do nothing to address most of the issues I listed, but would certainly exacerbate some of them. Could you provide an example of another system with comparable I/O that gives accurate estimates?Well within the competency of any company that cared to invest a modicum of time and resources in it. Moving people's EDD 4-6 months at a time is bush league nonsense.
This happened to me 2 weeks backs. After 2 days I got back the EDD.My OD is 09/15. EDD had been holding steady at 02/03-03/03, but just now it's showing me "TBD", anyone else in this situation?
