Something blocking the centre console door - What is it?

My sliding door to the front centre console stopped opening fully. Pulled out the cubby underneath the screen, and saw a cable with a box attached with a green light on it.
I currently have shoved it behind the metal frame to the cubby.

Only issue I am now having is my telematics is not giving a good signal now.

Couple of questions.
1/ What is this box?
2/ Where is it supposed to go?
3/ Would it potentially cause an issue with the Premium Connectivity signal?

Many thanks in advance.

So I decided to unplug it. And immediately my LTE signal disappeared. It appears to be an amplifier for the premium connectivity.

I wonder where it's supposed to go as it appears to be unstuck from whatever position it was in.
This may explain the poor signal I'm getting from the car.
