Sorry quick question about full self driving retro fit

you maybe right, confused also, but when I check in my car tells me I have FSD Computer, it looks like I have HW3 as well, I'll take it, I told them when I picked up my car that I believed I owed them 2500.00 they told me it was already paid for.

If you bought FSD (software) in the past, the HW3 upgrade is indeed "free", and it is reported to "work ok" with MCU1. However if you buy the additional MCU2 hardware upgrade ($2500+tax) it really makes the car and FSD "sing". So much faster and more responsive. As other have said "it feels like a whole new car now". I agree.

how do you tell, if I have MCU1 or MCU2, the screen does look different, and it is faster, and it took them all day to do it, dropped off car at 8am, car wasn't ready till 5pm, if I only have MCU1, I will upgrade. thank you.

You have Netflix so you have mcu2. I'm confused on what you actually requested you wanted from the SC

I bought FSD when it was all sale, for 2500.00 in march, they set up a SC for me to upgrade July 13th. I did what they told me, and I do have Netflix, and it works

I think you bought MCU2. Not FSD

This is very strange and we definitely need more. Do you have the service invoice? My theory is maybe they couldn't get MCU1 to work with HW3 and gave you mcu2 for free?

no, will get one, but I read the old email from, 3/12/2019, and at that time when you bought FSD at 2000.00, it came with all upgrades, but Tesla changed that later, like they always do. If I read that email right.

Don't think so. I bought FSD when it was 2k. I have EAP. They definitely dont upgrade your MCU. You got very lucky

I suspect they couldn't get mcu1 to accept the firmware update after installing HW3. There have been a few cases of that where they upgrade to mcu2 to free

I think your right. I always treat the service staff very good, I never give them a hard time, never complain when a part doesn't come in, as long as the car drives nice, when they did my refit a part for my door didn't come in, and the forgot to fix one thing, that was KO, will bring the car back when part comes in, I gave them all mask with Tesla logo on them, sometimes I bring them T-Shirts with Tesla logos, once I brought donuts to them, I was 30 min. early for 8am. and I always bring back there loaner car, washed and very clean with a tire shine. They always take very good care of me. I believe if you treat people nice, it will pay off. I know how it can get, I'm in business also.
