Taxes Included vs Excluded

Hi all, long time reader but new buyer! I have a question here, and I must have misunderstood something. I was expecting the financed value to include taxes (as it says). Am I confusing things?

Tesla financing does not bake in the taxes and registration fees.

Yeah that’s what confused me! It says includes below the amount due.

I think it means the amount due at signing includes those amounts.

Maybe my state (Iowa) I just pay at the DMV when I register plates. Thanks for the responses! I’m still excited/nervous about this whole process.

In Iowa, for new car sales, the dealership is expected to collect the initial registration and taxes and remit to the county treasurer on your behalf. That is why it is listed as due at signing.

I live in Iowa and took delivery a couple weeks ago in Minneapolis, MN. They did not collect taxes and fees. They did provide me a 30-day temporary tag (from MN). I am still awaiting the self-registration packet. I have read other stories where they send another 30-day tag to give buy more time.
