Tesla approved dent repair

I was silly over the weekend and reversed into a tow bar. My car is less than 1 month old Anyway, I plan getting it repaired, so I asked a Tesla approved body shop how much it would cost. I was surprised by the cost, so I thought I'd start a poll, see what people think ....

Also, has anyone had any experience in self repairing a paint job? Is it easy? Any advice?

The expensive bit will be the repainting. The white is multi coat and will need blending in with the rest of the bumper, so I suspect the whole bumper will need to colour matched and resprayed

I had some minor scuffs after a rear end, I was told my local tesla approved bodyshop charged the insurance 2.5k+, im sure a chipsaway sort of repair would have been around £500

Did a flawless job for exactly this (reversed into a fire hydrant). There is a thread on here about it somewhere if you care to search. £250 cash if I remember correctly

I don't they will repair my bumper again if I hit someone again/someone hits me. I got my front bumper for my previous BMW done for £250. For the price they quoted me, I could redo the bumper 6 times!!

I'll let you all know the prices I get quoted at other body shops.

Jee that's insane. A guy in Basildon repaired my mates Fiesta that had exactly the same sort of damage, £250. Flawless repair, couldn't even tell.


I'd say you gotta be able to get cheaper, even from a "proper" bodyshop.

A late update, but I'm getting prices from £200 to come to my house and do it. Anyone got any recommendations for someone to do it in with Manchester?

Tesla didn't seem to worry too much about that on a 'repair' they did before delivery which I only noticed about 3 weeks afterwards.
