I just wanted to state for the record that Tesla got my (7-9 week) estimate dead on. I know for a lot of people they messed up pretty bad, stating 2 weeks but those people ended up waiting 9-10, but for me it was right on, and just a hair over 7 weeks total.
Comms throughout that 7 weeks was definitely minimal, but they did reach out when they needed to (i.e. when I needed to finalize my info online, and when I needed to set up a delivery date).
It would be nice to have a tracker a la Domino's Pizza where you can get more behind the scenes info, but at the end of the day, at least for me, Tesla never gave me any bad information and when I look back, the angst I felt was really just misplaced excitement and anticipation.
