That's true, but I doubt Tesla is making their speakers. I don't know who they get them from but in large measure they're not bad.
The sound system could be improved but it's likely to take $3- 5000. to notice the improvement unless all you want is to rattle windows as you drive down streets. That'll take more.
I find the sound to be too loud in my new Highland, certainly louder than before and it's hard to adjust it lower levels. Up one and it's too loud. Down one and it's too low.

Have you tried using the equalizer to adjust level to your taste? You could use that to lower the overall volume while keeping the profile and then use the steering wheel volume adjustment to vary the sound level if your choices of music are not all at one level. No?
