Tesla Part Number Convention

Hello, I was wondering if someone has more information about the makeup of a Tesla part number. For example if I look at a R Rear strut for a model S I see a PN like 1015620-01-C. Is for example the 'C' a revision code? Is there a digit that indicates the L,R side of a vehicle? If for example a 1015620-01-D exists would that be a suitable replacement? Is there a publically available list that contains parts and updated part numbers?
