For those of you from the Bay area who may be going to the Tesla takeover at the Madonna Inn this weekend just wanted to check in and see how you guys might be going down there.
In case you're still planning a route with charging stops here are some tips.
From my experience there are a couple of good spots to pick up a charge from. All of these locations seem like reasonably safe spots, and the property management did not seem to be bothered with me charging there:
Morgan Hill la Quinta inn
17043 Condit Rd, Morgan Hill, CA 95037
(4) 70 amp capable destination chargers (shared)
Coyote Creek golf course
Parking lot, 1 Coyote Creek Golf Dr, Morgan Hill, CA
(2) 70 amp capable destination chargers
Ranch 43
65340 Los Lobos Rd (exit 260), San Ardo CA
(4) destination chargers (16kW shared)
Last year they were locked to 40 amps a piece but I've heard that they have a substantial upgrade since then.
Paso Robles Inn
1103 Spring St, Paso Robles, CA
(1) J1772 and one Tesla destination charger capable of 70 amps.
Copp Dental Group
1129 Pacific St, San Luis Obispo, CA
(2) 70a capable J1772 chargers.
The chargers seem to require payment to start but I don't remember it actually ever charging my card.
Of course there are others along the route if you look on plugshare but these seem to be reasonably close to the freeway.
