What did he die of?
Cancer. Don’t know which type. He just mentioned it briefly at the end of his second to last video. Was very stoic and calm about it. Can recommend that video to all.

One notable event in that video was Jack’s acknowledgement of the new breed of Tesla-focused youtubers and in particular Steven Mark Ryan from Solving the Money Problem that he liked very much.

Very nice of Jack I think.

It was a glowing review of the Y. I think that video was powerful because he was so open about it. Felt like an old friend was telling me how things were going. Maybe that sounds weird as I obviously did not know him.

FYI: I received my "legal proxy" documents yesterday and forwarded pictures of them to Computershare last night. This afternoon I got the control number to attend the virtual shareholders meeting. (So they are processing the requests fairly quickly.)
I received my email from Vanguard 2 weeks ago about voting in Tesla annual meeting. The email has control number as well.
Is this the number you refer to as how we can attend the virtual shareholders meeting?
It has a link to proxyvote.com for me to vote. I can request a vote in person which they will issue a legal proxy document. Since this year we can't attend in person, we have to do it virtually?

Anyone know how to get into the lottery draft to attend the battery day in person?

My family and I toured the Gigafactory in Sparks, NV last summer under NDA. That is not it. My son thinks it might be a bad drawing of it. This what the site looks like from the air on Google Maps:

I noticed a "LibertyX Bitcoin ATM" for the first time!

Our Comcast 1Gbit internet went down today from 9:30 am to 3 pm PDT due to "maintenance" so I was totally cut-off. In the hills, we are lucky to get E (3G) cell data service. It was distressing not knowing what was happening in the Casino today! I was pleased to learn my little 25 share buy did execute at $481.43 in my Roth.

Did anyone hear back from Al Root yet?

So...blah blah stock price BUT GUYS! I think I found the gigafactory in Microsoft Flight sim :DView attachment 583256

The lottery ended on Friday and they are supposed to start notifying "winners" Monday. They will only notify "winners". Thanks to OP for reminding me to email my wife and my proxies to Computershare for the virtual meeting in the likely case we don't "win".

Electrek report: a new study from Eindhoven University looked at the comparative CO2 emissions for whole lifetime cycles of ICEVs vs EVs (including manufacturing, as well as fuel production for the ICEVs) and debunked the misinformation and the inaccurate emission values used for calculations included in the highly-cited report from that German group last year.

Well, surprise-freaking-surprise: EVs are actually greener even after accounting for battery pack manufacturing once you run them a couple of years!

Better bookmark this one, it’s important!

No, that control number won't get you into the virtual shareholders meeting. You have to go to proxyvote.com, put that control number in, and select that you want to vote in person at the meeting. Then they will mail you a "legal proxy" document that you have to send, via email, to Computershare to get one of their control numbers. (You can watch the meeting without doing that, but you can't vote your shares during the meeting or make comments/ask questions without going through this process.)

There are instructions in the release from Tesla: 2020 Annual Meeting of Stockholders and Battery Day | Tesla

But the date for that has passed, so virtual is your only option now.

Of course its a bad thing.
They will have to start building another gigafactory somewhere.
So many factories, so little time.
« 50% annual growth?
Hold my stock
I use the Internet probably 123,837 times a day. I'm in a car less than 40 times a year.
im more in my Tesla than on FB
I don’t even have a Facebook account

Damn it. He sounded so positive on his last video. But he also said that he accepted it and was ready to go if that was the way it was going to be.

I am glad for him that he got his Model Y and that he got to see the TSLA liftoff before he had to leave us.

RIP Jack and thank you for everything!

Bitter sweet that he took up options so successfully, even though he soon saw the end looming for him. At least he called it right and gave information and encouragement to others to follow his example.

He was one of a kind for sure, I really enjoyed him

I said it before, I'll say it again.

How the flying fudge is Facebook worth almost 2x Tesla? Damn millenials.
Maybe FB use is free
Maybe if a Tesla Model 3 was free with ads constantly playing on the Center screen they would have more revenue with ads and selling private data to Cambridge Analytica? lol
