The new Texas electric vehicle tax of $200 goes into effect on 1 September. If your registration expires in Sept, Oct, and maybe Nov, then get your new sticker ASAP and you won't have to pay the extra $200 for this year.

My sticker was set to expire in Sept '23. I got my new sticker last Friday and I didn't get charged the extra $200.
