The Nissan Ariya EV completed the first-ever drive from magnetic North Pole to South Pole !

After nearly nine months on the road, an all-electric Nissan Ariya has become the first vehicle ever, gas or electric,
to drive all the way from North to South pole, piloted by Chris Ramsey of Plug in Adventures and his wife Julie.

That car got pretty good range in the extreme cold. I read another story about that trip but it didn't say how they charged the vehicle out in the middle of nowhere. Nissan should give a few of these cars to residents of Utqiagvik (Barrow) Alaska and see how they hold up. I watched a show not too long ago on the village and people go to get food and groceries and leave their gas vehicles running. You won't need to do that with an electric vehicle.

Did they bring their own Generators to charge the vehicle or did they have a support crew ?

The original plan had been to use a trailer with a small windmill to charge the car while parked while in polar regions, but the trailer didn’t work out on Arctic roads. But for the Antarctic portion, the Ramseys have been using solar panels to help charge the car at “night” (which can be any time of day – the polar region is in constant sunlight at this time of year), in addition to using generators when the weather isn’t in their favor, highlighting the ability of EVs to be fueled by several different energy sources instead of just one.

Regular chargers elsewhere.

Really? Didn't they know that the North Magnetic Pole is physically located in Antarctica? A simple test - if compass' North-pole needle is directed to an Earth magnetic pole, that pole must be the SOUTH pole.

They used advanced technology to travel back in time to an earlier period where the poles were reversed. And due to the ice age, white was the new black. Penguins were white with a black middle section. The hardest part of the journey was that electrons hadn't been invented yet.
