Vinyl front license plate - appears to be legal in CA

Seems legit for NorCal cars at least and comes with letter from DMV. Beats a front bracket..I think? Just sharing as I thought it was illegal to have “replica plates”

You mean this? Yes its legal and approved by the DMV & CHP, cost is $50.00 for the front wrap only. You get a letter from the DMV that you keep in your glove box and the metal front plate inside the trunk. There’s a tread on this already, will find and link it here.

NOTE: you must keep the rear metal plate on.

I cut out a piece of 3M clear bra to match the size of the vinyl plate. Applied the clear bra to the car and then placed the vinyl plate on top. Wasn’t sure how the vinyl they use would handle the paint underneath if it had to be removed for whatever reason.

Mine went over the Xpel PPF... I figured it would be destroyed either way in a frontal wreck. But this wrap is tough, like the registration stickers that go on your rear plate.

Where did you get the clear bra? Amazon? Was thinking of doing that for my hov stickers too

Yeah. I also cut out templates for the HOV stickers.
