Our new Model 3 is to be delivered on May 11. I am installing the charger on May 10. Is there any benefits in using a higher breaker then 60 amp... I am able to purchase a 70 or 100 amp in my local big box store... I currently have a 60 amp breaker... should I return it for a 70 amp or 100amp? Thanks for your replies!

Anything over 60amps will do nothing for your charging speed. Long range Model 3 maxes out at 48 amps which will charge the battery around 44-45 miles per hour. Is the wiring already run? Make sure the wire gauge you’re using is correctly rated for the breaker you’re installing.

The wire should be sized for the current that will be drawn same with the breaker.

If you’re installing a single wall charger, then it’ll just be a 60amp breaker and appropriate wire. This will allow you to charge up to 48amps. If you set the wall charger to something lower, you’ll need to adjust the breaker to match.
