If you use this aftermarket adapter, make sure you turn down the amperage to 24 amps on your car at every new location it's used at (it should remember the location if used at the same place)

Why not just buy the Tesla adapter from the web site ?

So you can just use the Tesla portable charger with the adapter and plug it into your dryer outlet? Also, adjust the amps to 24?

Still looking for one? I have a very lightly used Gen 1 14-30 that I was about to post for sale. I also have a Gen 1 6-50 that I never used. Both are the newer (gray plastic cap) versions.

FWIW... I just bought the 14-30 from Tesla last Friday, it took 3 days to show up... I’m in SF... so keep that in mind. I plug this into my dryer outlet and used the portable charger... no issues. The Tesla cables have built in circuitry so you don’t need to worry to set the amperage. I was going to go with one off of Amazon, but it was $50 (Tesla cable was $35) and no auto circuitry.

Folks just because you are currently not using a spare adapter, you really should consider keeping it. If you sell or trade your car, it should go with the car so it helps the next person. People are getting smarter about these and might ask where yours is.
