Did I do something bad, went to swap the footwell lights for colored lights and now they don't come on even with the original lights? I had other aftermarket ones in there and they were fine. I took them out because they were basically white instead of blue. I put these new lights in the trunk and they work fine.

They work fine in the trunk and they use identical remotes and the rpm Tesla have 4leds instead of 6. All around the Amazon are better and brighter.

But, do they work? My understanding is there’s something special about the front footwell lights.

Sorry, to be clear, the rpm tesla color changing lights work fine in the front, The amazon color changing lights that are half the price work fine in the trunk. I could not no way no how get the amazon lights to work in the front. I would plug them in and the front lights would die for awhile, they are self healing or whatever and eventually come back on. The connectors were also harder to get fitted. I honestly would use the amazon ones for the trunk and the rpm tesla for the front if it was me, the amazon ones are brighter as stated and much cheaper.
