Will Tesla Introduce Space X Starlink Internet on Model Y?

Elon had said that the antenna looks like a UFO on a stick. About the size of a pizza box. Needs a clear view of the sky to work. Not well suited for mobile use.

Heard the same on recent earnings conference call. I don't think this will happen in the near future.

But what about: Adding (UFO on a stick)/transceiver to existing cell towers and letting the cell towers talk to Starlink. Then like a cellular network, transition the at&t SIM network to the Starlink SIM cell network. and Ta-Daaaa Teslas can talk to Starlink but the cars don't use their own ground-2-space antenna. No, it won't happen before the Y. And it would not be an easy swap to change current/existing SIMs in any/all to Starlink cellular, but could happen over time.

Premium Connectivity is very reasonable at $9.99 but Tesla must be subsidizing that cost to help owners (yes, they also use it). So if for no other reason (dismissing controlling your own cell network for security and growth) just the cost avoidance of not continuing to give someone else our money could be/should be motivation enough to move to Starlink. It is plausible. Now don't go thinking it isn't possible. It ain't rocket science and even if you claim it is - well we know he already does Rocket Science!!
