Winter Charge cord connection question.

I have found if I left car and connect charge cord (Tesla HPC charger), the cord is not connected showing at my mobile. I have to disconnect, open the door and reconnect, and the close the door. The charger connector then lock and testing charge (charge scheduled at midnight), after that it will unlock and my mobile shows the cable not properly connected. At that point, the car will be charged at scheduled time.

What’s wrong, or it is normal behavior?

One of the changes in a recent software update is that in cold weather the charge port will not engage the locking mechanism to lock the cable in place. This is working as designed (in the newer software at least). I too have seen messages in the app stating that the charging cable may not be plugged in all the way (can’t remember the exact wording of the message), but it still charges fine. If your car is still charging properly then I wouldn’t worry about it.
