I've seen some schmucks here that try to sell ChaDeMos for over list price, and get all huffy when called for it. Occasionally the adapter is out of stock at Tesla, so don't wait to the last minute.
Note there have been some firmware updates to the connector. I recall that some people has issues connecting with older ones. There was a bunch of Chinese knockoffs offered for sale some years ago that were assumed "fell off a truck", and couldn't get a firmware upgrade.
I finally bought a ChaDeMo after two years of intermittent searching.

a tesla tech told me that there were no firmware updates available for the chademo. I don't know if he was right but I'm going with that until corrected.
