    parking in a charging spot

I don't know the laws in mass, but here in the great state of Florida, occupying a charging spot while not charging is against the law and will earn you a parking ticket.

    parking in a charging spot

last week I was flying out of JAX, there are four L2 chargers in the surface lot, all were occupied. however there was a model 3 with CA plates parked in one of the spots and he didn't even try to fake charging by plugging in. just by chance there was an airport cop walking his dog right by me...

    Elon Musk

without trying to provoke an argument the fact that your partner is an attorney means little to this case other than he can shed some general insights. then you go on to say that his insights come from twitter. well that destroys and credibility of his insights.

Car & Driver: The Mach E is simply better than the Model Y

I have used car play in many different cars and have never had any sort of stability issues, maybe your phone isn't working properly
  10. mk677

Car & Driver: The Mach E is simply better than the Model Y

I see it as car play and android provide things at a far lower cost than the manufacturers were charging. thousands of dollars for a nav and "premium" sound systems became absurd when you could run an app like waze via car play for next to nothing.

Car & Driver: The Mach E is simply better than the Model Y

FWIW: it was almost every car produced up until then that had to have that flaw repaired, another big flaw at the time had to do with the contacts which also failed on many cars. the good thing was that there were less than 50k model Ss that were on the road then and at that time tesla service...

How many years is Tesla ahead

tesla's advantages will be eroded by all the newcomers to the EV game. the taycan blows the tesla away in fit, finish and interior luxury but tesla beats it on range and 0-60, which is a specious measure. two things tesla does better than others is their tech and the supercharger network. the...

    Mechanic recommendations (Augusta, GA)

assuming that you are talking about a tesla just be certain that whomever you choose knows how to lift the car properly, failure to do so can result in severe damages to the battery pack. you might be better off waiting for your service center.

Think I’m gonna buy a Taycan

    1. the car is a lease 2. what would I drive is the car market is so crazy? 3. it isn't about happiness, it is about a car that is quite costly and is not performing properly, in fact it is failing in many different ways.

Think I’m gonna buy a Taycan

there were 3 major updates that required the car to visit the shop for sometimes days at a time, the first one fixed the problem with the 12v battery being drained, the second addresses the random loss of propulsion some people had and sparked an national recall from NHTSA and the third...

Think I’m gonna buy a Taycan

in addition to my complaints about the car here's another issue, on a recent road trip, using the EA network was a disaster. two complete fail to charge forcing me to waste 1.5 hours on a 50kw charger. Porsche is tarnishing their brand with their very buggy car and the unreliable charging makes...

Aggravating EV Journalism - public EV charging

your comments are fairly valid but now that I drive a taycan and rely on the EA network and other networks I can state that the charging situation is poor at best. in 9 years of driving teslas across the US I may have encountered slow superchargers, crowded superchargers but I've always been...

Anyone wondering about the "Coming Soon" Supercharger Stations in Florida?

at port st lucie there is a tesla super charger, why would you pass that and use the EA charger? same for ft pierce, it isn't that far from the pt st lucie charger. have you ever visited ft pierce? IMHO it isn't a place that I'd care to spend much time in.

Think I’m gonna buy a Taycan

in what aspect? plaid certainly is the better car if you want to race at red lights, the taycan is better if you want to stop that bullet. the tesla is has far better tech but the taycan is superior in overall driving.
  25. mk677

Think I’m gonna buy a Taycan

agreed, the driving as certainly far superior to the tesla but the software glitches, cars needing to go in for days for software updates, features not working are all big issues with the taycan. If I cannot depend on car being able to charge while on an extended road trip how great the...
  26. mk677

Think I’m gonna buy a Taycan

I would be wary of the taycan at this point. the cars are having a lot of software related issues and porsche has not trained enough staff at the dealerships to deal with all the issues. service waits are out to about 4-6 weeks for the latest software update that addresses the recent recall. the...

Opening up the Supercharger Network to non-Teslas

I never said that summons never happened. you apparently are unaware of elon's showing how he could stand in front of a store and retrieve the car from a parking place. guess what, that never came to be. did you pay for FSD? how's that working out for you? I a very aware of how summons works...

  33. mk677

Opening up the Supercharger Network to non-Teslas

are you sure about that? tesla's sold in the EU are equipped with a CCS receiver, the superchargers use the standard CCS plugs. why would tesla sell an adaptor in the EU for a US spec plug? it makes little sense
  34. mk677

Opening up the Supercharger Network to non-Teslas

that may work for tesla in the EU where they use the standard CCS plug but here in the US it isn't as simple as a software tweak to allow non teslas to use the tesla chargers. tesla uses a proprietary plug here in the US and allowing non teslas to use their system requires a massive hardware...

Opening up the Supercharger Network to non-Teslas

are you still waiting for the summons to bring the car to you in a parking lot? the economics of retrofitting the chargers and the cars just don't work. you seem to be ignoring that tesla uses a unique plug for their cars
  36. mk677

Think I’m gonna buy a Taycan

this is by design, unlike a tesla the car will coast, applying the brakes is where the regen kicks in, the brakes themselves are only to bring the car to a stop. it is a different approach, it took me awhile to not miss the tesla's regen but now I know how to manually kick it in when needed...
  37. mk677

Opening up the Supercharger Network to non-Teslas

don't hold your breath waiting for that to happen. do you realize that the tesla chargers in the US use a proprietary plug unique to tesla? the expense of converting the chargers alone precludes this from ever happening
