Radical SRZero electric supercar "unveiled" at Autosport International 2010 — Autoblog Green

The lads seem to be able to get pretty close to 300 miles on a charge. The motors, I read somewhere, have been "down wound" (or something) and are most efficient around 55 - 60 mph. I thnk to do the type of distance driving they would have been much farther ahead to use more energy dense batteries than Thunder Sky but I guess it's hard to beat free.

Getting there was a great achievement - pity they didn't get organised with the recharging in Paris though. The site of the car making its way home under its own steam, mixing it with the post race Le Mans traffic would have been far better than having it on a tow rope. I'm sure there are a lot of Petrolheads saying "told you so" now.

TEG, the graphic shows 0-60 in 7 seconds...how is this the fastest electric car with a mediocre result like that?...am I missing something?

(Side note...I wonder how difficult it is picking the bugs out of your teeth at 0-60 in 7 seconds?:wink: )

Yeah, doesn't seem like anyone should be calling it "world's fastest"...

The all electric 400bhp twin-motor SRZero has 56kwh of lithium ion battery storage, a 250 mile (402km) range, a top speed of 124mph (200kph) and a 0-60 mph (96kph) in 7 seconds, and was developed over two years in partnership with Radical Sportscars. It weighs in at 1,433lbs (650kgs) without batteries and is normally fitted with a V8, but in SRZero guise, it weighs in at 2,600lbs (1,180kgs) with the lithium batteries fitted, two Evo-Electric drive motors, regenerative breaking, and a bunch of electronics.

...Although... It seems they intended it to be quicker...

...The 550v motors also feature regenerative braking, allowing the SRZero to travel up to 550km between charges from a standard domestic socket.

However, this economy doesn’t come at the expense of performance. Radical’s super-lightweight chassis means that the SRZero can still sprint from 0-60mph in only 3.5 seconds, and on to a top speed of 190km/h in ‘high-performance’ mode...
