Tesla Miami Event

I can confirm, through a member of the FLEAA, that a Signature 100 Roadster (#52, I believe) is being delivered today.

ALSO, some very good news for those way down in Miami. There will be a Tesla, open for test rides, at Art Basel in Midtown Miami (sorta near the beach) on December 5th.

I live in Broward, will I need to buy any tickets to go see the roadster? What time on Friday can i come down there? I checked on teslamotors website and there is no information about this event. I am excited to finally be able to see the car in person.

Thanks,

Anton

It was just posted posted on the "events" page that Tesla will be in Miami December 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th.

Tesla will be at the Art Basel show in Midtowm Miami December 4th and 5th. On the FLEAA (Florida electric auto association) mailing list someone said Darryl Siry would be there, test rides would be available, and that the location of the Tesla Store would be announced. The events page says, "details coming soon."

December 6th and 7th, 10am through 3pm, Tesla will be at the Gulfstream Park Race Track - a closed track - offering Roadster 1.5 drives (not rides) to customers. The events page says everyone is invited.

A note on the Tesla Store location: under the employment page at Tesla, two jobs are open for Miami. I guess it's pretty likely that's where it'll be.

I contacted fleaa.org and they will be there also, showing their electric conversions. The address i got from them: 3101 Midtown Blwd, Miami, FL 33127

I tried calling Tesla for more info a couple days ago (they didn't call back) and now I've just been waiting for details via the FLEAA mailing list...so neither worked out.

Thank you though for taking the initiative to get more info. So it looks like there will be a fee to go see the car at Art Basel. However, I still haven't heard about any fees for the event on Saturday and Sunday at the race track. I know some members of the FLEAA (wth some pretty cool EVs) are gonna show up there, so it must be open to the pubic and can't cost much (if anything) to attend.

This is what's currently on the events page:

Yep, i've been checking it many times. The Art Basel event they got posted is wrong, its not at Midtown, but at Miami Beach. Midtown got art shows going on as well, and i was there today. I emailed Megan. If i don't get a reply, i will skip Art Basel and will wait till Saturday and go to the race track at Hallandale Beach.

I contacted somebody (someone who would know what's going on), and he said he was completely unaware of Tesla not attending Art Basel. However, the race track event is still happening for sure.

Does anyone have any questions they'd like for me to ask the Tesla folks?

(Sorry this is coming late. I couldn't post yesterday beacuse the forum wasn't working)

From his post on the company blogs, I'm guessing TomSax would like to know what the plans are for service centres, specifically whether they are prioritizing the East Coast and if when they will open one in Seattle / WA?

Personally, if they know, I wouldn't mind knowing how sales are going in Europe, when we can expect service centres here and if they still plan to launch the Model S at Geneva or possibly now earlier?

I was at the racetrack event today. Tesla were there with 2 cars (maybe 3). Tesla people were very nice. I got some video made, will get it edited and up on youtube soon. Did not get much pictures. I will be there again tomorrow. Andrew from FLEAA was there with his electric Scion xB converted by AC Propulsion. He let me drive it, and i was hooked. My next car will have to be electric, unless my present car dies too soon.

Doug, the cars were VP 21 and VP 24, if i remember correctly. I got video and some pictures, will post them shortly. I got to drive one at the end of the day. I was amazed how quickly it takes off. Quickest car i have driven before was 350 hp 2004 Pontiac GTO 6 speed manual and it can't come close to what Tesla Roadster felt like.
