Ludicrous+ easter egg dialog box removed from 2019.40.1.1 ?

I have a late 2016 P100D, and recently noticed that using the Ludicrous easter egg (either holding down the slider switch on Ludicrous+, or selecting the starfield animation from the easter egg launcher) no longer presents the green/red accept buttons, and no longer activates the battery...

Yellow screen? Force Tesla to Replace it!

Hi, I'm just adding my history with the yellow borders and screen replacement as a data point. -Model S P100D - bought Dec 2016 -Screen had yellow border at end of summer 2017. Service replaced the screen under warranty, no questions asked (invoice attached) -Replacement screen had yellow...

    Calibration Needed: AP2 or Driver?

I have a similar experience with AP2 on 17.17.4: I am driving in the center of a lane on a 4-lane highway. The instrument cluster shows the car in the center of the lane. The lane is straight, there are no upcoming curves or other cars around. I engage autosteer, and the car immediately...

Poll: Do your power folding mirrors work properly?

After spraying a bunch of silicone lubricant into my driver's side mirror (couple months ago -- photo earlier in this thread), the mirror has extended every day without a single failure. It's clearly a poorly-designed part, though, and it would be nice to have Tesla replace the existing...

    Slacker Radio Premium experience

Unfortunately, yes. The custom playlists always show up at the bottom of the page, so I have to scroll down past all the junk. Not a huge deal, though.

    Slacker Radio Premium experience

Hi all. I just wanted to post about upgrading to Slacker Premium since there is a lot of contradicting information out there. It's easy: Just create a Premium account on the web, and then click the "log in with your own account" button at the bottom of the Streaming page in the car's center...

Poll: Do your power folding mirrors work properly?

I don't have any problems with streaking or residue on the chrome.

Poll: Do your power folding mirrors work properly?

I applied a generous amount of silicone spray lubricant to the pivot area, and have not had a problem since. There is a felt pad on the underside of the moving section that presumably prevents rattling noise, but also increases friction in the mechanism. The silicone soaks into the felt and...

Poll: Do your power folding mirrors work properly?

Yes, exactly. I created the poll because I wanted to see the real data. I really enjoy my car, but surprisingly, reading this forum often makes me feel worse about owning it! The reason is that many threads are problem-related, and then everyone piles on the comments, and it sounds like all...

Poll: Do your power folding mirrors work properly?

My P100D occasionally fails to fully extend the driver's side mirror. I brought it in for service, and they replaced the mirror. It worked for a month, but now occasionally fails to extend. I'll probably just leave them extended, as it seems to be a fully defective feature, which is...

Tesla CAN bus logging/display with Raspberry Pi

I posted a video about my project in which I use a Raspberry Pi to display realtime CAN bus data in the car's own web browser. Let me know if you have any questions. -Ben Shortcut to the links: I show how to collect detailed CAN bus data from a Tesla Model S, and display it in the car's...

P100D and P85D CAN bus data compared for 0-60

I don't have access to a P85DL, but I'm working on building a low-cost CAN bus logger that is specifically made for Tesla perf data. If it's easy to build and distribute, I can start sending them to other enthusiasts for more data collection. I believe all of the P100D's are ludicrous. I added...

P100D and P85D CAN bus data compared for 0-60

Wikipedia says 3.1 seconds 0-60 for the P85D insane (Tesla Model S - Wikipedia). This number almost certainly includes the 1-foot rollout, so the true 0-60 is probably very close to 3.3, which is what I measured. Ludicrous shortens it to 2.8 (with rollout). The 0-60 numbers sometimes do not...

P100D and P85D CAN bus data compared for 0-60

I've had the chance to log some 0-60mph perf data from the CAN bus with an oscilloscope on a P85D insane, and P100D ludicrous+. Both tests were done with max battery ready and SoC at 85%. Ambient temp 50*F. 21" wheels. P100DL+ limits to 1830A, and battery voltage sags from 390V to about...
