I suspect that the automatic charging is for the car to charge itself, perhaps with NO ONE IN THE CAR. Maybe you get out at your favorite restaurant, the car Valets itself to the supercharger while you dine, then parks happily until you are ready for it to pick you up.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this -- but if you take 2 sets, put the narrow rims on an S, and the wide rims on an X, you have a pretty good setup. Non-staggered for both, and a bit more tire for the X. The X may need new tires though, since the OD fitment they list is for the S.

Hopefully they will put in enough electrical infrastructure, so that they can put in higher power chargers once the marketplace and technology are there. 10 minutes @50kw (ie 10kw) will get you about 30-40 rated miles, probably enough to get you to the next MassPike charger if you are on a trip...

I got a $250 matt CF version from a california shop. There are a few small blemishes that you can feel on the underside, but not enough to bother me. Look pretty similar to the OEM in style, but I haven't installed it yet. It was well packaged for shipment.
