I generally use voice commands for sending messages, but I think removing the link was a bad move. This may also be a bug. In the past if I said “messages”, it would open the phone app on the contacts tab. Now “messages” will open the messages app, unless the phone app is active.

Thank you! I did open the app list to check, but I was driving and I didn't see it. Interestingly, I also used the voice command "messages", but there seems to be a bug. If the phone app is active, saying "messages" does not open messages. Thanks again.

My bad, version is 2023.44.30.5.1. I just noticed the Messages tab is missing in the Phone app. I can still send texts and the car will read incoming texts, but the messages tab is gone. Rebooted the car, to no effect. Did I miss and feature announcement, or is this a bug?

I figured out the issue. I was at my driveway, so homelink was active lower left. The phone could not take over that space. I tested it today when I returned home. If I close the Homelink by dragging it down, I can then just touch the green icon and the phone call appears

I find this happens when the App is updated. I guess it makes sense that the App is not automatically started after an update, but it can be frustrating. Now, if the car doesn't unlock I open the app and the car unlocks. Btw, I have an Android phone.
