    $724 for TPMS sensor?

I bought some "pre-programmed" sensors on amazon , and took them to Skip's Tires. They told me $20 per tire to install them, and they could probably figure out which sensor was failing. I got a call later. The left rear sensor battery was dead, but the other 3 sensors were good. They also said...

    $724 for TPMS sensor?

To answer your question: I was expecting to be told that the right rear sensor needs a new battery, so it's $5 in parts + $70 labor. or maybe I was thinking it would be a replacement of a sensor for like $140 total. I wasn't expecting they'd need to replace all 4 sensors: surely they didn't...

    $724 for TPMS sensor?

I wasn't sure if I should replace the rear tires. They have like 20% of their tread left, and tires are $500 each (before tax and installation). Two tires is a noticeable %age of the car's $14k blue book value, and it's unclear how much a potential buyer will value new tires.

    $724 for TPMS sensor?

It seems like the best plan is to buy 4 new sensors, and replace them when I replace the tires. The issue I have now is that my 2023 Model X just got delivered, and now I want to sell the Model S. My rear tires only have a few thousand miles left on them before they need to be replaced, but...

    Delivery tomorrow

Yesterday, I did get an email for a credit toward a wall charger. seemed a little tight to try to schedule something. Thanks for mentioning the trailer hitch attachment. Yes, it was in the frunk, along with an adaptor for J1772. That's nice. Thanks, Derek

    Delivery tomorrow

Car is here! Delivered at 6 pm for a 12-4 delivery window, but it's here. Person delivering it pretty much dropped it off and left. She told me to tap the key icon in the app, and that was about it. Now I need to figure out how to use the new car. I'm pretty lost in it. Some questions...

    Delivery tomorrow

The queue seems a lot shorter today than when I ordered a year ago, but I don't think I have the patience to wait several more months. I guess whenever you get a car, there's always the next feature that is just about to come out that your car doesn't have. Sounds like it's time for me to...

    Delivery tomorrow

and would the HW4 be better than the current HW? Is it possible to defer this delivery to February? The original delivery window was Jan-Feb.

    Delivery tomorrow

I just found out today that my Model X is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. This was pretty sudden for me, and I'm not super-prepared. One question I have: Is there any hardware that is coming soon? like will cars produced next month have different autopilot cameras/sensors than this one...

    $724 for TPMS sensor?

A new controller board was not in the quote; it was just the 4 sensors + installation. So I can buy 4 Huf sensors on the Internet, take them to any tire shop, and they can replace the old 2012 ones? I'm glad to be driving my car again after a week of Uber and borrowing my mother-in-law's car...

    $724 for TPMS sensor?

I dropped off my 2012 Model S for service early Thursday morning with my car reporting a TPMS sensor issue. They guessed they'd be done same day. I've messaged them every day asking if I can pick up my car today. They reply things like "they are diagnosing it deeper" and they'll message back...

Car feels wobbly after new tires

Honestly I don't remember 9 years ago, sorry. I think the problem became a non-issue after driving more on the tires.

    Nuclear power

I don't know what happened to him, but AXPW lost more than 99.9999% of its value.

    Nuclear power

I started reading this thread in 2013. nwdiver was saying that nuclear was too expensive, and other renewables (e.g. photovoltaics) were cheaper. 8 years later, PV costs and battery costs are significantly lower. Nuclear costs are ... not. So, how is this still a thread? Why do some...
