Aux input into Model 3 (or: FM modulation questions)

Wow @sduck, thank you for investing the time and money trying to find one that works. Totally understand about getting frustrated and throwing it in a pile. Totally agree @Skyking1066. Like many other issues, it's so frustrating that there is no official Tesla UserVoice or other public feedback...

Aux input into Model 3 (or: FM modulation questions)

I agree, each to their own. But to answer your question, yes the extra steps necessary to get Bluetooth quality over FM quality far outweigh the effort to me. If FM and Bluetooth sound equal to your ears, or if the extra sound quality is not worth the extra effort to you, then FM should be fine.

Aux input into Model 3 (or: FM modulation questions)

Actually, I'd much rather go the route Mr. Duck did than go through the FM tuner. Mr. Duck, can you share the make and model number of the device you managed to get working this way?

    12v Switched?

This is not meant to be argumentative, but I was wondering if you would mind linking to a source that supports this statement? As far as I know, the only alternative to an unfused circuit is an unsafe one. If there is a dead short, that current has to go go somewhere. I am not aware of any...

    12v Switched?

There are no fuses in the Model 3 (source 1, source 2, source 3. More sources available on Google). Every circuit should be protected. It wouldn't be safe for Tesla to have unprotected circuits. Now I'm not suggesting to completely disregard the load limit for any circuit. However, if the load...

    12v Switched?

If that power pattern works for you, then sure you can use it. For me, I've been dealing with sleep issues for months. Some days it would take hours to sleep. Some days it wouldn't sleep at all. During this time my amplifier was getting very hot. I also have a laser wire system that generates...

    Battery discharging after 2020.20.13 update

Sorry folks that I didn't notice this was an X specific thread before posting. But when @Bigriver pointed that out it just motivated me further to continue digging in. I feel pretty silly, but my particular issue stemmed from a new 3rd party service I decided to try months ago and then forgot...

    Battery discharging after 2020.20.13 update

I've subscribed to this thread. Unfortunately for me, 2020.24.6.1 did not fix this issue for me on my Performance Model 3. My model 3 hasn't slept multiple times in a day since 6/11 and it hasn't slept at all since 6/30. Latest Updates 7/10 - 7/13 (no sleeps) 7/9 (no sleeps) 2020.24.6.4 was...

    12v Switched?

Or open up the back side of the center console near the AC vents for the rear passengers. The brown wire going to the arm rest is the only one you need. It's in the bundle up front too, but as todd2fst4u mentioned, there is no easy way to isolate it in the bundle. You'll need to test.

    12v Switched?

Not to start a debate (and it's certainly not my intention to argue), but I just wanted to mention that the Epicenter does not accomplish the same goal that I chose a DSP for. Epicenter attempts to restore missing bass, but I chose a DSP to try and remove unwanted extra bass. I honestly don't...

    12v Switched?

The picture you posted was from my first "loose test". The final ground point was actually the same ground point used by the stock amplifier: This is the same ground point others have used. If you still feel this is not a good ground point, let me know. The whole ground wire is about 3 feet...

    12v Switched?

Verrrrry interesting. I wonder if that's actually a different wire or if it's a different behavior between the SR+ and Premium Sound. Mine is working great for now, but I'll keep this wire in mind in case I need to find another option later. I cover the ground in Part 3 of my blog series...

    12v Switched?

Unfortunately this is not always correct, depending on your equipment. As I mentioned in post #70, my HD1200/1 amp has reached 125 F just sitting in the trunk without anything playing. And I've noticed much more vampire drain since 16.2.1. My car can go many hours without sleeping, especially...

    12v Switched?

This is new to me. Have you verified this yourself @todd2fst4u or did you read it somewhere? If you read it somewhere, could you share a link? I ask because I thought @Ingineer said that red wire at VCRight is the same red wire that goes into the amplifier in the trunk. I have personally...

    12v Switched?

I got tired of waiting for a better fix and my son offered to help me yesterday, so we did this brown wire hack as well. We used this ASH-100DD solid state relay that I got on Amazon for $12 bucks and it worked great. Bottom-Left: Ground Bottom-Right: Brown wire from center console...
