    Experience with Tesla Maps

Interesting, I just tried planning my trip from Ottawa in ABRP and it also offered the same route the Tesla map took me on as the first choice. It did provide two alternate routes, one of which was the Rt 81 trip I show above. Part of the reason I like that route better is that there are more...

    Experience with Tesla Maps

Ah, good idea. I could have added superchargers along Rt 81 to keep it on that highway.

    Experience with Tesla Maps

I went on my first long trip in my 2022 Model 3 Tesla. We drove from NJ up to Toronto and then Ottawa, Canada. Most of the time the trip mapped out by the Tesla map worked well, but on the drive home from Ottawa to NJ, it picked a route that went through a bunch of back roads where there wasn't...

    Issues with maps navigation

That's just like the U-Turn issue off the highway I saw. Before I owned a Tesla I had a car with Apple Car play. Even though Apple Maps has it's issues, I don't ever remember it doing this particular type of error.

    Issues with maps navigation

I've had a few issues using the Tesla map for navigation. I searched for McDonald's and the map showed a list in order of closest to furthest. The closest one was claimed to be 4.5 miles, but when I selected it the actual distance was 15 miles! How could there be such a large difference in...

Tesla window and child lock question

On the touchscreen you can lock the back windows and doors (child lock). But what about in an emergency if somehow the touchscreen is damaged and we can't disengage the child lock. Is there a manual override of some kind?

    How Best to Use Autopilot

I used the scroll wheel a lot more on my trip today using autopilot. It did help when I anticipated things up ahead like cars turning, slowing down with the scroll wheel avoided any sudden decelerations. Thanks for the tip!

How to prepare Tesla to drive in morning

I did a software update on Thursday, so maybe that was the cause. Thanks for the suggestion.

    How Best to Use Autopilot

I've had my Tesla Model 3 for about 2 months now. I've had mixed success with autopilot. It seems to work best when I'm driving on a highway where there is light traffic. If there is stop and go traffic, I find that it can over accelerate or over decelerate as the cars stop and go in front of...

How to prepare Tesla to drive in morning

This did the trick, in the morning I was able to step on the brake and use the touchscreen within seconds of getting into the car. So should I be "rebooting" the car in this way on a regular basis? I reboot my computers once a week to chase the gremlins away.

How to prepare Tesla to drive in morning

Thanks, trying the power down tonight. I will report back in the morning if it fixed the problem.

How to prepare Tesla to drive in morning

I notice that when I have the car in the garage overnight, it is quite sluggish when I first get in it to drive in the morning. I will get in the car and step on the brake, but it won't switch from Easy Entry to my driver profile. When I try to use the touch screen it will be frozen. I will have...

    Tesla Charging in NYC

Thanks, I think I'll charge it to 90% then. My last trip to the city I charged to 90% at home and the driving I did in the city it went down to 53%, I visited those 2 chargers in Brooklyn above more to see what my options were than because I really needed it. I charged back up to 90% and when I...
