    New AutoPark with USS

The new vision-based autopark is really excellent... but not infallible. It sees those concrete pillars at the back of your parking space, and it generally avoids hitting them. I say generally, because I now have a fingernail-sized impression on my rear bumper of the concrete post my M3LR...

Consistently charging over limit on my TWC?

Recently I’ve noticed that despite the charge limit being set to 70% in my M3LR the car is routinely at 74% when I set out. This is a new behavior after having the car for the better part of 2 years. (I use that limit consistently except for road trips, when I schedule the car to go to 100% at...

EAP Autosteer on 2024.3.10 single stack?

So, now I can wait for the EAP highway code to be updated (which might take a while now that Tesla has stopped offering EAP for purchase) or spring for $2k more to go to FSD (which gets me 12.x locally and 11.x on the highway). Hmmm....

    Bethesda, MD Tire place?

+1 for Quality Discount Tire in Kensington

EAP Autosteer on 2024.3.10 single stack?

Figures (but I was hoping). Thanks.

EAP Autosteer on 2024.3.10 single stack?

I’m not super interested in the FSD trial, but I am really interested in whether the EAP autosteer that I rely on for road trips has migrated to the new-and-improved code. Is EAP autosteer on this version the old stuff or the new?

    Out-of-round winter tire package?

I had Tesla install their 18” winter tire package (wheels+Sottozeros) on my M3LR about 3,000 miles ago. They’ve never felt entirely right. It’s as if something isn’t round. It’s mostly noticeable around 30-40mph. I should have complained right away, but didn’t. My choice now is to either...

Vision-only Auto Park is finally here

My early experience with auto-park (EAP, no USS) has been quite positive. It won’t parallel park along an empty curb, but it will parallel park in the spaces it finds near other parked cars - you probably don’t need much help pulling up to an empty curb. Thus far I’ve only seen it back in to...

New 2024 Tesla Tire Repair Kit

I bought a Viair 85P compressor for our 2013 M3LR. Works quite well - just slightly slower than the battery terminal connection model we've used for years on our ICE cars. Highly recommended.

Need help with Spotify setup for Premium Duo users

We’ve had no problem with Duo. Each driver authorized with their phone for their profile. (I do think I had to reauthorize once, but that may have been related to an upgrade of the car software.)

Gear Chime option missing in 2023.44.30.5.1

The alternative parking chimes are in the Toy Box. Look there instead. Note that if you experiment with the alternative chimes and decide you don't like 'em, turn that option off in the Toy Box and then go back to the screen highlighted above to turn the original chime back on.

    Can’t “go home” after 2023.44.30.2?

I’ve routinely used the voice command “go home” on our 2023 M3LR. After the holiday update it doesn’t appear to recognize home as the intended destination, instead looking for similarly named businesses. Clicking directly on Home on the Navigation display works just fine. Deleting and...

LTE slow to connect = long wait for voice commands like navigation

My 2023 M3LR often takes an annoyingly long time to connect to the LTE network here in the Washington DC metro area. It doesn’t matter if I’m parked at home connected to WiFi or elsewhere where I’m not. The delay can be anything from 30 seconds or so to a couple of minutes. We’re in a...
