Consistently charging over limit on my TWC?

Recently I’ve noticed that despite the charge limit being set to 70% in my M3LR the car is routinely at 74% when I set out. This is a new behavior after having the car for the better part of 2 years. (I use that limit consistently except for road trips, when I schedule the car to go to 100% at...

EAP Autosteer on 2024.3.10 single stack?

So, now I can wait for the EAP highway code to be updated (which might take a while now that Tesla has stopped offering EAP for purchase) or spring for $2k more to go to FSD (which gets me 12.x locally and 11.x on the highway). Hmmm....

EAP Autosteer on 2024.3.10 single stack?

I’m not super interested in the FSD trial, but I am really interested in whether the EAP autosteer that I rely on for road trips has migrated to the new-and-improved code. Is EAP autosteer on this version the old stuff or the new?

    Out-of-round winter tire package?

I had Tesla install their 18” winter tire package (wheels+Sottozeros) on my M3LR about 3,000 miles ago. They’ve never felt entirely right. It’s as if something isn’t round. It’s mostly noticeable around 30-40mph. I should have complained right away, but didn’t. My choice now is to either...

Vision-only Auto Park is finally here

My early experience with auto-park (EAP, no USS) has been quite positive. It won’t parallel park along an empty curb, but it will parallel park in the spaces it finds near other parked cars - you probably don’t need much help pulling up to an empty curb. Thus far I’ve only seen it back in to...

New 2024 Tesla Tire Repair Kit

I bought a Viair 85P compressor for our 2013 M3LR. Works quite well - just slightly slower than the battery terminal connection model we've used for years on our ICE cars. Highly recommended.

We’ve had no problem with Duo. Each driver authorized with their phone for their profile. (I do think I had to reauthorize once, but that may have been related to an upgrade of the car software.)

Gear Chime option missing in 2023.44.30.5.1

The alternative parking chimes are in the Toy Box. Look there instead. Note that if you experiment with the alternative chimes and decide you don't like 'em, turn that option off in the Toy Box and then go back to the screen highlighted above to turn the original chime back on.

    Can’t “go home” after 2023.44.30.2?

I’ve routinely used the voice command “go home” on our 2023 M3LR. After the holiday update it doesn’t appear to recognize home as the intended destination, instead looking for similarly named businesses. Clicking directly on Home on the Navigation display works just fine. Deleting and...

LTE slow to connect = long wait for voice commands like navigation

My 2023 M3LR often takes an annoyingly long time to connect to the LTE network here in the Washington DC metro area. It doesn’t matter if I’m parked at home connected to WiFi or elsewhere where I’m not. The delay can be anything from 30 seconds or so to a couple of minutes. We’re in a...

Single-pull Autosteer - can you still get TACC?

With 2023.38.9, my EAP-equipped M3LR offered me the option of enabling single-pull autosteer. My wife makes frequent use of TACC. If I enabled the single-pull option for autosteer would that be the end of TACC for her? (Is there another way to engage it? Would the single-pull option be...

Trying to Justify the Cost of Enhanced Autopilot

Economically justified? Not at all. But we do reasonably frequent highway trips, and I really value letting the car change lanes rather than me. I do not let it change lanes on its own - and it doesn’t let me change lanes on my own. Instead, I signal to change lanes and the car does it when...

Tesla App 4.25.0 - Wall Connector Support

+1 for failing to add my wall connector via my iPhone… and succeeding via a WiFi-only iPad running the same version of the app. It’s nice to be able to see the charging history, but I’m disappointed in the access control. I can add more users to have access to the wall connector, but I was...

Tesla App 4.25.0 - Wall Connector Support

Tried it with my iPhone and failed - it got to the point of attempting to update the software and then failed repeatedly. Any chance it’s because the wall connector is on my Verizon FIOS guest network? Or is this just one of the bugs you expect with a first effort? Mapman

Supercharger price increases over time - a PA turnpike example

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Somerset rest area (eastbound) is a convenient stop for us on a trip we take reasonably frequently. I've never seen it busy. We tend to get there late in the afternoon. Dec 11 2022 $0.29/kWh Mar 10 2023 $0.34/kWh Jul 17 2023 $0.41/kWh Sep 14 2023 $0.42/kWh We also...

I use a Gen 3 wall connector ( -G version, latest firmware) with my 2023 M3LR (2023.26.9, but also with an earlier build). I've now had a couple of instances where I've been notified that charging has stopped. In each case, it's resumed before I could get to the car. I don't have any other...

I think I have the wrong Tesla and I kinda hate it, lol

We went shopping for a YLR, test drove one, and were really surprised not to like the way it rode. Then we drove a 3LR with 18” rims. The ride was so much nicer, and the added highway range was a plus for us. We don’t sit in the back much. The grandkids will just have to deal with the back...

confuse and is it worth it Enchanced vs basic auto pilot

If you change lanes with basic autopilot you need to engage it again. If you change lanes with enhanced autopilot, you just engage the turn signal and the car will change lanes for you when it finds it safe to do so. It can also change lanes on its own, if you prefer, to go around slower...

Wall charger [should I keep the wall connector or use mobile connector for my situation?]

You might want to check exactly which type of receptacle that kiln uses - NEMA 14-50 or 6-50. If it’s the latter, you’d either need to buy the correct mobile charger adapter from Tesla or add a 14-50 receptacle. Our kid’s kiln uses 6-50.

Hidden HUD questions [Are these aftermarket hud systems all the same?]

I’m intrigued by Hansshow’s air vent mounted “hidden” HUD. That said, there seem to be several different vendors selling what looks like identical units for really low prices. Anybody know if they really are identical (and if not, what the differences might be)? I don’t have FSD but I might...

Auto headlights, autopilot, and PA construction zones?

I’m on my first M3LR road trip! I understand that auto headlights are required, at least for my EAP. In PA headlights are required to be on in construction zones. It’s odd enough to have to control the headlights via the screen (because there appear to be no voice commands to do the job)...

Newbie: How can I delete scheduled charging at home?

Thanks. I’m using the Tesla Wall Charger. I think I have it all straight now. I got confused because I had enabled Departure charging and that appears ONLY to work in my Tesla app when Off-peak charge is also selected. (The manual would appear to imply that that’s optional. I only get the...

Newbie: How can I delete scheduled charging at home?

The nice thing about the manual is that it’s always there. Unfortunately, it’s not always clear. (It identifies how to establish schedules. It does not indicate how to remove one.) Also not clear: I set scheduled charging for 9am. I plugged in at 5pm and saw that charging had commenced...

Newbie: How can I delete scheduled charging at home?

I’m ready for my first road trip. My car is now scheduled to be 100% charged via my Wall Connector by 9am. That’s great, but I don’t often do road trips and I don’t need to use scheduled charging in routine use. (80% will be fine too.) How can I delete a schedule and revert to...

Mileage and capacity oddity from my 2023 M3LR sticker?

I would certainly be surprised if it was that large. No, the sticker doesn't report battery capacity. Just MPGe, range, and estimated charge time (8.5 hours, 240v). It also has a QR code that points to the fueleconomy.gov page for the 2018 model...

Mileage and capacity oddity from my 2023 M3LR sticker?

Picked mine up yesterday! The Mulroney sticker claims 358 miles of range, and 26 kW-hr (combined) per hundred miles. That would seem to imply a 93 kWh battery pack. Are the packs really that large, or am I missing something?

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

Delivery day for our M3LR! Brand new Tesla facility in Rockville MD. We were encouraged to check out the car at our leisure in their garage. It was already on, keys inside. Aside from a couple of utterly ignorable paint bubbles (which they promised to fix) things couldn’t have been smoother...

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

They clearly want to deliver all the existing LR reservations by the end of 2022. What happens after that isn’t clear at all. They could cut the price to $55k to qualify for tax incentives. More likely, they could do that but limit functionality at that price until your after-purchase upgrade...

Discussion : All discussion regarding Model 3 and Tax credit in model 3 subforum

If you have an existing Model 3 Long Range on order it probably cost more than the $55k limit for sedans and will not qualify. I suspect that new orders in 2023 will magically come in just under $55k, probably by removing something that can be purchased separately in the app after the sale.

Discussion : All discussion regarding Model 3 and Tax credit in model 3 subforum

Hard to know what to take from all of this. I listened to the recording as well. Elon said they "have a path" for the minerals requirements, but I don't think I'd bank on that for January 1 2023. I'm still wagering on a de-contented M3 LR to meet the $55k price ceiling. And that the content...
