Would you, could you drive a ICE again?

To answer the OP's question, I had a P85D for 3 years and liked it but sold it and bought a BMW M5. I sometimes miss the Tesla and would have an electric car again but maybe a Taycan instead as I like the way Porsches drive. If Tesla did a full refresh of the Model S with an upmarket interior...

    AU Pricing

Very interesting thread, this one. I’m struggling to see how this is good for Tesla. They were only just making money at last week’s prices. With the price drop, they are giving away a large chunk of gross margin but don’t have the production capacity to hugely increase the number of cars...

Sydney body shop to repair scratch following keying

If you have a good record with your insurance company, an increase in premium for a no-fault claim is unlikely. If you are up for the excess anyway, the size of claim isn’t your problem. I would certainly use a Tesla approved repairer. They are approved for a reason.

    AU Pricing

My mistake. They have a worldwide sales problem then, not a local one. Anyway, the huge price drop will certainly stimulate demand.

    AU Pricing

I’m not an owner nor a short seller so I don’t have a vested interest but as an obvervation I’d hazard a guess that sales in AU aren’t going as well as the company would like or there wouldn’t be this massive price drop.

    AU Pricing

I just priced a fully loaded P100DL at $190K on the road in SA. I had to double check - it seems so cheap. Great buying for those brave enough to believe the company will survive.

    Porsche Taycan

Any thoughts on this? Will it be a worthy competitor to Model S? https://www.carscoops.com/2019/02/check-porsches-2020-taycan-detailed-spy-photos-yet/

    Real world range in P100D

OP here. I ordered a BMW M5. I'm sure I'll be back into an EV in the not-to-distant future - probably a Porsche Taycan.

Senate select committee on Electric vehicles

The trouble is that Australia isn't the ideal place to build EV's. We couldn't built ICE vehicles competitively and Tesla is proving how hard it is to get profitable when starting from scratch. Unless the government offers even more generous incentives to established manufacturers to build EV's...

    Second hand pricing?

OP, options do affect pricing but the main reason for the wide range of prices is that some sellers have wildly optimistic expectations. It's not just a Tesla phenomenon; you'll find it with all brands. Another reason is that some would-be sellers may not want to sell. "OK dear. I'll sell the...
