Would you, could you drive a ICE again?

To answer the OP's question, I had a P85D for 3 years and liked it but sold it and bought a BMW M5. I sometimes miss the Tesla and would have an electric car again but maybe a Taycan instead as I like the way Porsches drive. If Tesla did a full refresh of the Model S with an upmarket interior...

    AU Pricing

Very interesting thread, this one. I’m struggling to see how this is good for Tesla. They were only just making money at last week’s prices. With the price drop, they are giving away a large chunk of gross margin but don’t have the production capacity to hugely increase the number of cars...

Sydney body shop to repair scratch following keying

If you have a good record with your insurance company, an increase in premium for a no-fault claim is unlikely. If you are up for the excess anyway, the size of claim isn’t your problem. I would certainly use a Tesla approved repairer. They are approved for a reason.

    AU Pricing

My mistake. They have a worldwide sales problem then, not a local one. Anyway, the huge price drop will certainly stimulate demand.

    AU Pricing

I’m not an owner nor a short seller so I don’t have a vested interest but as an obvervation I’d hazard a guess that sales in AU aren’t going as well as the company would like or there wouldn’t be this massive price drop.

    AU Pricing

I just priced a fully loaded P100DL at $190K on the road in SA. I had to double check - it seems so cheap. Great buying for those brave enough to believe the company will survive.

OP here. I ordered a BMW M5. I'm sure I'll be back into an EV in the not-to-distant future - probably a Porsche Taycan.

Senate select committee on Electric vehicles

The trouble is that Australia isn't the ideal place to build EV's. We couldn't built ICE vehicles competitively and Tesla is proving how hard it is to get profitable when starting from scratch. Unless the government offers even more generous incentives to established manufacturers to build EV's...

    Second hand pricing?

OP, options do affect pricing but the main reason for the wide range of prices is that some sellers have wildly optimistic expectations. It's not just a Tesla phenomenon; you'll find it with all brands. Another reason is that some would-be sellers may not want to sell. "OK dear. I'll sell the...

How’s the wait going for the Aussie 3?

I'm thinking of doing the same. The electric Jaguar just got launched and all the Germans will have full electrics out soon. How do we request the refund? Can it be done online or do we contact Tesla AU?

    Real world range in P100D

    Real world range in P100D

I've got a P85D that's coming up to 3 years old. I love the car but the real world touring range is slightly disappointing. Even with a full battery, a planned 340km journey (direct, no SC stops) out of Adelaide brings a warning to keep the speed below 100km/h. How much better is the P100D on...

Sydney to Adelaide in a Model S

I spent the last 2 days getting home from Sydney to Adelaide. After overnighting in Euroa, I decided to ignore the car's suggestion to head to Ballarat for charging and instead drove directly to Horsham. I sat on or just under the speed limit and went via Murchison (again, ignoring instructions)...

    Model 3 Wait

I'm sitting on a Model 3 reservation but with other manufacturers now furiously cranking up EV development, I'm not sure whether the Model 3 proposition is as compelling as it was. I suspect there will be other brands about to launch competing EVs when Australia gets its first 3's.

    Supercharger - Euroa VIC

On my way to Sydney from Adelaide last week, I ran out of energy (me, not the car) at Euroa. I decided to spend the night at a local motel with a destination charger instead of using the SC up the road. The otherwise pleasant Castle Creek Motor Inn has the slowest wall charger I've ever...

Sydney to Adelaide in a Model S

I just did ADL-SYD for the third Christmas/New Year and will drive home late in Jan. It gets easier every year with more Superchargers. Compared to an ICE trip it's kinda slow but relaxing. Take care! A year ago I said we need an SC at Bendigo - and we still do!

Why did Tesla chose this spot in Clare for the SC. It's so far distant from the shops etc. IMO it's in the wrong place in Clare.
